Biography

I have worked in travel for 30 years, 21 years of this as a Senior Travel Advisor at Garstang Travel. I love my job and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Over the years it has enabled me to travel to many different countries around the world - experience and knowledge that I can then pass on to my clients when advising and planning their holidays.

I am passionate about travel and love to go somewhere different each time I go on holiday.

The favourite part of my job is dealing with my customers in a face to face environment; no two days are ever the same. I get great pleasure from planning their holiday arrangements and making the whole process an enjoyable and hassle free experience!

My Travel & Holiday Highlights

Destination Expertise

Australia

The most diverse country I have visited. I have taken three trips and experienced such different landscapes. My highlights were snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef with my children - spotting a wild Cassowary in Daintree rain forest and flying in a light aircraft over Wilpena Pound, Flinders Rangers, South Australia. Also Melbourne & The Great Ocean Road.

Thailand

A cultural treat and scenic delight. I have been twice to Thailand and absolutely love the kind friendly people. A 2 night stay at Elephant Hills, a luxury tented camp & ethical elephant sanctuary, and swimming and snorkeling in the Phi Phi Islands are just two of my best memories.

India

Full of colour, culture and diversity. I was lucky enough to do the Golden Triangle: Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, and see the magnificent sun rise over the Taj Mahal. A relaxing stay in Kerala on the beach was the perfect finish to a special holiday!

United States of America

New England and New York self drive – Historic Boston, Quaint New England towns to The Big Apple. Boston Duck Tour & drinking a bloody Mary in the Cheers bar, the Empire State building and just chilling out in Central Park are just a few of the must do’s.

United States of America

California and Nevada - I have been lucky enough to visit these amazing states 3 times! So much to see and do: Venice Beach, Santa Monica , Yosemite National Park, a helicopter flight to the Grand Canyon, quad biking through the canyonlands and walking over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco!

Caribbean

Beautiful white sandy beaches, bright blue ocean & uninterrupted sunshine. My favourite Island is Antigua, but I also had an amazing time swimming with the turtles in Barbados.

Italy

My favourite county in Europe. My favourite city has to be Siena and the surrounding beautiful rolling Tuscan Hills. Take time to have a leisurely lunch in the Piazza Del Campo in Siena.

Malaysia

A wonderful holiday visiting Sepilok - the Oragnutan Orphanage and the Sun Bear Conservation Centre followed by a beach stay in Karambuni. We also have a great stopover in Hong Kong!

Japan

I spent 2 weeks travelling around Japan using the Japanese rail system visiting Tokyo, the Japanese Alps, Mount Fuji, Kyoto and Hiroshima. A fantastic way to fit in so many sights and the culture of this fascinating country!
